2027 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Scheduled Maintenance Overview
The 2027 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is the flagship American luxury SUV, on sale now by factory order in eight trims from the base 4x2 to the Summit Reserve. Every 2027 Grand Wagoneer is powered by the 3.0L Hurricane Standard Output twin-turbo inline-six, rated at 420 hp and 468 lb-ft, with a TorqueFlite 880RE 8-speed automatic; it is the only engine offered. What's new for 2027 on the service side: nothing. The 2027 owner's manual carries the same 0W-20 oil spec, ATF 818 transmission fluid and intervals as before, so the schedule below is a known quantity. Our Mopar-certified technicians handle every trim with OEM-spec fluids.
Grand Wagoneer uses the Stellantis Oil Change Indicator System. Towing, mountain grades and hard driving bring the indicator on sooner, and the 2027 owner's manual says to never exceed 10,000 miles, 12 months or 350 engine hours between oil changes. Every oil change also includes a tire rotation, a 12V battery terminal inspection, and CV joint, brake, cooling system and exhaust inspections, plus an engine air filter check if you drive on dusty or unpaved roads.

Time-Based Service
Several 2027 Grand Wagoneer items are governed by time as well as miles, whichever comes first:
- Engine oil and filter: at least every 12 months even at low mileage
- Front suspension, tie rod ends, brake linings and axle fluid inspection: every 20,000 miles or 2 years
- Engine air filter and transfer case fluid inspection: every 30,000 miles or 3 years
- PCV valve: replace at 100,000 miles or 10 years
- Engine coolant, accessory drive belt and transfer case fluid: flush and replace the Mopar OAT coolant, replace the belt (inspecting the tensioner and pulley) and change the transfer case fluid (Mopar Mobile LT) at 10 years or 150,000 miles; the manual lists no shorter second interval
- Brake fluid and automatic transmission fluid: the 2027 manual sets no replacement interval for either; DOT 3 brake fluid and the transmission are inspected at every service
Engine-Specific Maintenance Details
Every 2027 Grand Wagoneer uses one engine, the 3.0L Hurricane Standard Output (420 hp / 468 lb-ft), so there is one spec to get right. It takes 7.5 quarts of SAE 0W-20 full synthetic (MS-6395) with a Mopar 68683357AA oil filter (which supersedes the earlier 68466307AB), a Mopar 68575644AB engine air filter, a 68548579AA cabin filter and six Mopar 68265438AB spark plugs replaced at 60,000 and 120,000 miles. The TorqueFlite 880RE 8-speed automatic uses Mopar ATF 818, the transfer case Mopar Mobile LT, the axles GL-5 75W-85 (with a friction modifier for limited-slip differentials), and the cooling system 16.6 quarts of Mopar OAT coolant (MS.90032) plus 3.2 quarts for the intercooler. The manual lists no automatic transmission fluid change at any interval. Get the right oil for your engine.

Luxury Features, Air Suspension & Towing Maintenance
Grand Wagoneer combines flagship luxury features (Quadra-Lift air suspension, McIntosh audio, 22-inch wheels on Altitude and Obsidian trims) with a heavy-duty drivetrain, and the 2027 plan reflects that. Front and rear axle fluid is inspected every 20,000 miles and changed under police, taxi, fleet, off-road or frequent trailer-towing use. Transfer case fluid is inspected at 30,000 miles and changed once, at 150,000 miles, with Mopar Mobile LT. No automatic transmission fluid change is listed at any interval for the 880RE 8-speed. The owner's manual plan sets no separate air suspension interval; our technicians look over the Quadra-Lift system as part of the multi-point inspection at every visit. Upland owners who tow with the two-speed transfer case and 3.92 axle, and anyone hauling a trailer up the grade toward the Parkway, should plan on the severe-service axle fluid change.
- Air suspension requires periodic inspection — leaks or compressor wear can develop without visible symptoms.
- 22-inch wheels are highly pothole-susceptible — inspect rims after rough roads.
- Towing 10,000 lbs is severe-duty — shorten transmission and oil intervals when towing regularly.
- Hurricane HO turbo bearings benefit from brief warm-up before aggressive use, especially in winter.
- Premium audio and luxury electronics put heavy load on the battery — annual testing matters.
- Air suspension uses electric compressors that drain battery if vehicle sits unused.
- Cold-start operation in Western NC winters stresses turbo bearings.
- L (extended-wheelbase) variants stress driveline more than standard — follow severe-duty intervals.
Severe & Special Operating Conditions
Stellantis defines severe operating conditions as any of the items below: dusty or off-road driving, frequent trailer towing, and police, taxi or fleet use. Many Grand Wagoneer owners in the mountains qualify for at least one, and the 2027 manual shortens specific items accordingly: the engine air filter is inspected at every oil change under dusty or off-road use, and front and rear axle fluid is changed at the 20,000-mile inspection under heavy use.
- Towing — Grand Wagoneer rated up to 10,000 lbs
- Hurricane HO aggressive driving
- Frequent short trips that prevent engine warm-up
- Heavy stop-and-go traffic
- Three-row family use with full passenger loads (L variants especially)
- Sustained mountain grade driving (Western NC routes)
- Operating in dusty conditions or gravel forest roads
- Extreme cold weather (below 0°F) or extreme heat (above 100°F)

Service for 2027 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Owners Across Western NC
Grand Wagoneer owners across Western NC use these flagship SUVs for premium daily driving around Brevard, longer trips to Asheville and Hendersonville, family hauls toward Waynesville and the Smokies, and heavy tow trips to Lake Lure. Mountain grades stress brakes and the cooling system, and towing stresses the axles and transfer case. Air suspension, luxury electronics and the twin-turbo Hurricane demand factory-trained service. Our Mopar-certified team handles flagship 2027 Grand Wagoneer service with appropriate care.
Monthly & Semi-Annual Owner Checks
Between scheduled service visits, a few quick owner checks help catch problems before they become repairs. These take only a couple of minutes and apply to every 2027 Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
- Tire pressure — check monthly; 22-inch wheels are sensitive to pressure variation.
- Engine oil level — check every 2-3 fuel fill-ups; turbo engines benefit from monitoring.
- Coolant level — verify monthly.
- Brake fluid level — check the master cylinder reservoir monthly.
- Washer fluid — top off as needed.
- Air suspension — observe ride height when parked; uneven settling indicates leak or compressor issue.
- Visual underbody check — look for fluid leaks after rough roads.
- Battery state of charge — H8 AGM should be tested annually given heavy electrical load.
