Oil Change Tips for Your Dodge Durango
- SRT Hellcat owners: change oil every 5,000-7,500 miles if you drive aggressively — supercharged engines are unforgiving of degraded oil.
- Towing with the HEMI (up to 8,700 lbs) is severe-duty operation — shorten intervals to 5,000-7,500 miles when towing regularly.
- Never substitute conventional oil — all Durango engines require full synthetic to maintain warranty coverage.
- 5.7L HEMI engines have known issues with lifter wear if oil change intervals are extended — be conservative.
- Schedule annual oil changes regardless of mileage — synthetic still degrades over time.
