Battery Care Tips for Your Dodge Hornet
- European-spec batteries (Group 51R) are less common than American sizes — make sure your replacement is OEM-spec.
- PHEV owners: the 12V battery still needs occasional charging if vehicle sits unused.
- Hornet electronics are sensitive — never disconnect the battery without following Mopar procedures.
- Winter cranking matters — load-test annually before cold weather.
- Expected lifespan for the Group 51R AGM battery is 4-6 years.

If replacement is needed we use the OEM-spec Mopar battery matched to your Dodge Hornet — including AGM batteries for vehicles with auto start-stop or eTorque. We also test your alternator and starter while we're at it.
