2025 Jeep Wagoneer S Scheduled Maintenance Overview

The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S is the brand's first global all-electric SUV: dual-motor AWD producing 500 hp (Limited) or 600 hp (Launch Edition), a 400-volt, 100.5-kWh battery and an EPA-estimated 294 miles of range. An electric powertrain means no oil changes, no spark plugs, no engine air filter and no transmission fluid changes. But the Wagoneer S still needs regular service: tires, brakes, the cabin air filter, the coolant loop that serves the battery and power electronics and, at high mileage, the Electric Drive Module oil in each axle. Our Mopar-certified EV technicians handle all of it.

EVs have no Oil Change Indicator because there is no engine oil. Instead, the 2025 owner's manual's EV maintenance plan runs on 10,000-mile / 12-month steps: at every one, rotate the tires and inspect the CV joints, with the front suspension, tie rod ends, brake linings and parking brake inspected every 20,000 miles or 24 months. Mileage items (cabin filter, coolant, Electric Drive Module oil) layer on top, and the manual asks owners to run a short checklist once a month or before a long trip. Tires should also be rotated whenever the tread-depth difference between them reaches 2/32 inch, even before 10,000 miles.

Time-Based Service

Several 2025 Wagoneer S items are governed by time as well as miles, whichever comes first:

  • Tire rotation and CV joint inspection: every 10,000 miles or 12 months even at low mileage
  • Front suspension, tie rod ends, brake linings and parking brake: inspect every 20,000 miles or 24 months
  • Coolant: flush and replace the Mopar OAT coolant at 10 years or 150,000 miles
  • Electric Drive Module oil: drain and replace at 150,000 miles or 15 years
  • Owner checks: once a month or before a long trip, check the interior and exterior lights, 12V battery terminals and cables, brake pads, rotors, operation and fluid level, steering, suspension and axle boots, wipers and washer fluid, tire pressure and the coolant reservoirs
  • Brake fluid (Mopar DOT 3): the 2025 manual sets no replacement interval; the level is part of the monthly owner check and brake fluid is inspected at every service
  • Cabin air filter: every 12,000 miles; the manual gives no time-based interval

Drive Unit & Powertrain Specifications

The Wagoneer S uses two electric drive modules, one at each axle, each driving through a single-speed reduction gear with an 11:1 ratio for full-time active 4WD. The Limited pairs a 150-kW front module with a 250-kW rear module for 500 hp and 524 lb-ft; the Launch Edition (and a Limited with the Propulsion Boost Package) uses 250-kW modules front and rear for 600 hp and 617 lb-ft. Each module holds 2.75 quarts of Ultra Low Viscosity ATF, drained and replaced once at 150,000 miles or 15 years. The 400-volt, 100.5-kWh liquid-cooled battery and the power electronics share a 14.5-quart Mopar OAT coolant loop flushed at 10 years or 150,000 miles, the brakes use Mopar DOT 3 fluid, and the 12V battery is maintenance-free.

EV-Specific Maintenance Considerations

Wagoneer S maintenance is simpler than a comparable gas SUV: no oil, no spark plugs, no engine air filter, no accessory drive belt and no scheduled transmission fluid changes (each single-speed Electric Drive Module is serviced once, at 150,000 miles). But EVs introduce their own items. A large battery pack and instant torque wear tires, which is why the manual ties rotation to a 2/32-inch tread-depth difference as well as 10,000 miles. Regenerative braking does much of the stopping, so friction brakes can sit; the manual has the pads, rotors, brake operation and fluid level checked monthly and the linings inspected every 20,000 miles. The battery and power-electronics coolant loop is flushed at 10 years or 150,000 miles, and the cabin air filter is replaced every 12,000 miles.

  • EV weight (about 5,800 lbs) stresses tires more than comparable gas SUVs — expect 20,000-30,000 miles for performance tires.
  • Regenerative braking dramatically extends brake pad life — many EV owners go 80,000+ miles between brake services.
  • Friction brakes can rust or corrode from disuse on regen-heavy vehicles — inspect annually.
  • 12V auxiliary battery still needs annual testing — the most overlooked EV maintenance item.
  • If vehicle sits unused for weeks, 12V battery can deplete — consider a trickle charger.
  • DC fast charging accelerates HV battery wear — use Level 2 home charging when possible.
  • Charge port and cable should be inspected monthly for damage or contamination.
  • Mountain descents in Western NC still rely partly on friction brakes — let them cool after extended descents.

Severe & Special Operating Conditions

The 2025 Wagoneer S owner's manual publishes a single EV maintenance plan with no separate severe-duty column. Instead it front-loads inspections at every 10,000-mile visit and asks for tire rotation as soon as tread wear becomes uneven (a 2/32-inch difference between tires). If your driving is harder than average, with frequent mountain grades, unpaved roads or extreme temperatures, plan on more frequent inspections than the base schedule and tell our advisors how you use your Wagoneer S.

  • Frequent DC fast charging (more than once per week)
  • Heavy spirited driving (Wagoneer S does 0-60 in 3.4 seconds)
  • Operating in extreme cold (below 0°F) or extreme heat (above 100°F) regularly
  • Routine HV battery state-of-charge above 90% or below 20% for extended periods
  • Heavy loaded driving with full passenger load
  • Sustained high-speed driving (battery cooling load)
  • Towing within rated capacity (verify with owner’s manual)
  • Vehicle sitting unused for extended periods (12V battery drain)

Service for 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S Owners Across Western NC

Wagoneer S owners across Western NC are early adopters of all-electric premium SUVs: daily driving around Brevard, longer trips to Asheville, Hendersonville and Waynesville, and weekend runs toward Pisgah Forest. Mountain grades lean on regenerative braking on the way down and on the battery on the way up. Cold winters affect range. Our Mopar-certified EV technicians are trained on the Wagoneer S Electric Drive Modules and high-voltage battery system.

Monthly & Semi-Annual Owner Checks

Between scheduled service visits, a few quick owner checks help catch problems before they become repairs. These take only a couple of minutes and apply to every 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S; the owner's manual asks for them once a month or before a long trip.

  • Tire pressure — check monthly; low pressure significantly reduces EV range.
  • Coolant level (HV battery cooling loop) — verify monthly.
  • Brake fluid level — check monthly; even regen-heavy EVs still need clean brake fluid.
  • 12V auxiliary battery — annual professional test (the most overlooked EV service).
  • Charge port and cable — inspect monthly for damage, corrosion, or contamination.
  • Tire sidewalls and tread — EV weight wears tires faster; inspect monthly.
  • Software updates — check for OTA updates; install when prompted.
  • Washer fluid — top off as needed.
Note on Pricing: EV service pricing differs from gas vehicles. Routine 10,000-mile service is typically less expensive because there is no oil change; it is a tire rotation and inspection. Specialty services like the 150,000-mile Electric Drive Module oil service, the coolant flush and high-voltage battery system work require factory-trained technicians and carry premium pricing.
