It is offered as a Regular Cab with a 60-inch or 84-inch cab-to-axle length (143.5-inch or 167.5-inch wheelbase) or a Crew Cab with a 60-inch CA (172.4-inch wheelbase), in Tradesman and Big Horn trims (Big Horn is 4x4 only on the 3500). The 6.4L HEMI V8 (375 hp / 429 lb-ft) is standard, the 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel (360 hp / 800 lb-ft) is available, and both pair with a PTO-capable TorqueFlite HD 8-speed automatic and a standard Vehicle System Interface Module for upfitters. Tradesman is the upfit-ready foundation of the 2026 Ram 3500 Chassis Cab, with a work-grade interior, the 6.4L HEMI V8 and TorqueFlite HD 8-speed standard, and the 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel (360 hp / 800 lb-ft) available; the chassis cab uses the 360-hp Cummins, not the pickups' High Output diesel. PTO capability, a Vehicle System Interface Module, Uconnect 5 with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, adaptive cruise control and Forward Collision Warning-Plus are offered on Regular Cab 60-inch or 84-inch CA and Crew Cab 60-inch CA builds.

Optional Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Laramie Package groups add the 12-inch Uconnect screen, dual-zone climate, remote start, cargo camera, polished aluminum wheels and heated and ventilated bucket seats.

Engine ratings carry over (375-hp HEMI, 360-hp / 800 lb-ft Cummins, both with the TorqueFlite HD eight-speed), but the 2026 Cummins gains heavy-duty pistons, a revised turbo and performance intake manifold, larger valves, a higher-pressure fuel system, glow plugs and integrated fuel filters, and the truck adds active grille shutters and an electronic front-axle disconnect on 4x4 models.
