Jeep Recall Check by VIN
The fastest way to find out if your Jeep has an open recall is to enter its 17-character VIN on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's free recall check at nhtsa.gov/recalls. Searching recalls by VIN shows any unrepaired safety recalls on your specific vehicle, new or old. If something comes up, our certified Mopar technicians at Mahon CDJR will take care of it at no cost to you, no matter where you bought your Jeep.
How to Handle a Jeep Recall, Step by Step
Check Vehicle at NHTSA
Find your 17-character VIN on the driver's side of the dashboard where it meets the windshield, on the label inside the driver's door jamb, or on your registration and insurance card. Enter it at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see any open recalls on your Jeep. No VIN handy? You can also search by year, make and model to see every recall for your model year.
Confirm with Mopar
Jeep's own Mopar recall lookup shows the same safety recalls plus any customer satisfaction or service campaigns for your vehicle.
Read the Notice
Recall letters explain the issue and any precautions. If a notice includes a "park outside" or "do not drive" advisory, follow it until the repair is done.

Jeep Recall FAQs
How do I check my Jeep for recalls by VIN?
Enter your 17-character VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls or on Mopar's recall lookup. Both show any open safety recalls on your specific vehicle. You can also call Mahon CDJR service at (828) 492-2121 and we'll check it for you.
What should I do if my Jeep has a recall?
Read the recall notice, follow any park-outside or do-not-drive advisory, and schedule the repair. Recall repairs are free at any authorized Jeep dealer, including Mahon CDJR.
Do I have to go to the dealer where I bought my Jeep?
No. Any authorized Jeep dealer can perform recall repairs, whether you bought your vehicle new, used, or from another dealership. Mahon CDJR handles recall work for drivers across Western NC.
How often should I check my Jeep for recalls?
Check your VIN at least twice a year and any time you buy a used vehicle. New recalls can be issued years after a vehicle was built, so older model years still receive them.
