Ram 2500 Oil Change Specifications
The Ram 2500 heavy-duty pickup offers two engines: the 6.4L HEMI V8 (gas) and the legendary 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel I-6. Each has very different oil specs, capacities, and intervals. Cummins owners in particular should pay close attention to oil and filter quality. Our Mopar-certified team handles both gas and diesel service with OEM-spec parts.

Capacity: 12.0 quarts
Recommended Interval: 15,000 miles (light use) / 7,500 miles (severe-duty)

Oil Change Tips for Your Ram 2500
- Cummins owners: change oil at 7,500 miles for severe-duty use (frequent towing, idling, dusty conditions).
- Use only diesel-spec oil meeting CES 20081 — never substitute light-duty gas-engine oil.
- Fuel filter and water separator service is also critical for Cummins — typically every 15,000 miles.
- DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) levels should be checked at every service.
- HEMI 6.4L requires 0W-40 specifically — substituting 5W-30 or 5W-20 can damage the engine.
